Financial Controller - Iconic Manchester Hotel & Spa Retreat

Salary: £40,000-50,000 + Up to £10,000 Bonus + Fantastic Benefits 

** To be considered for this role, you MUST have 3+ years solid experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Head of Finance or Management Accountant with a strong background in hotels (including spa/leisure hotels) and a 
full accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA. Please note, this is a hands-on full-time property based role and due to the level of experience required, first appointments will not be considered for this role. **

Our client, a truly iconic Manchester-based hotel and spa retreat, are looking for a highly experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller with a strong hotel background (including spa/leisure hotels) for their hugely popular property in the capital of the North. Renowned for it's hugely popular food and beverage, MICE, spa and leisure operation, this stunning property attracts clientele from afar and wide from leisure guests visiting the city to corporates and loyal high profile guests returning for repeat experiences.

They are looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to join their management team to look after the day to day operational running of the finance department and with their wealth of experience give strategic guidance to the General Manager of the property. We are looking for someone who is who has the patience and interest in training a small team to develop their financial skills as well as working closely with the General Manager to get them where they need to be. The company is diverse and despite being a larger business, has a nice family feel. This is an ideal opportunity for a strong ambitious Financial Controller, Finance Manager or Management Accountant with a strong background in hotels (including spa/leisure hotels) to really make their mark working for a well-known and strong reputable operator.

The role itself will involve preparing management accounts, overseeing stock, wages, expenses and working as a consultant to the property, acting in an advisory capacity to the General Manager, working with them to get them where they need to be, setting targets and also reporting back.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years solid experience working as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, Head of Finance or Management Accountant in a busy spa/leisure hotel operation.
  • A full accountancy qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA.

  • Energetic & motivational
  • The patience & ability to work with General Managers to set targets to get them on track, monitor progress & report back
  • Strong IT Skills (i.e. Sage 50, Procure Wizard, Micros Symphony, Alchemy, Opera Cloud)
