📍Location: Leed, West Yorkshire

My client, a leading innovator within the event catering industry, is looking for fantastic Deputy Head of Events to be accountable for delivering operational excellence of event catering across all their venues.

** Please note due to the nature of this job a car driver will be required for this role **

The Role:

  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, exceptional customer service, and ongoing performance reviews of event businesses.

  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to Heads of Food & Beverage, fostering their professional development and ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Drive operational excellence across all events, including maintaining food and beverage gross profits, labor cost percentages, and stockholding within set targets.

  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety and Food Safety, working closely with the Health & Safety Manager and company Environmental Health Officer to provide direction and support.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Support the management team by actively participating in key events and operations as required, as well as assisting in delivering and mobilizing projects within set timelines.

  • Implement and enforce SOP's to optimise business operations and ensure consistency in service delivery.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Events and the culinary team on menu development initiatives, contributing insights and expertise to enhance offerings. 

  • Facilitate the adherence of stock procedures by all team members, ensuring efficient inventory management.

  • Fulfill any additional duties as assigned by the Head of Outside Catering, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in meeting evolving business needs.

This is a varied role involving operations, logistics, planning and administration. It is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about delivering operational excellence.

The desirable candidate will have:

  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience of multi venue F&B or event catering management.
  • Fantastic leadership skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail. Engaging, flexible and friendly in manner.
  • Good knowledge of budgeting and cost control.
  • Works well under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Strong IT and business systems literacy skills.
  • Ability to remain calm during periods of high volume or unusual events, whilst remaining driven to complete your tasks.
