Deputy Manager – Unique Multi-screen Quality Social Cinema
Preston Area | £30,000–£35,000 + Benefits + Real Progression
Love film? Not just the big blockbusters — but the hidden gems, world cinema, live screenings and special events too?
We’re looking for a Deputy Manager to join a modern, community-focused social cinema in the Preston area — someone who genuinely wants to help grow the independent and alternative side of the programme.
This isn’t your standard multiplex. It’s a stylish, relaxed venue with luxury seating, quality light bites & drinks, and a real social buzz. It shows the latest mainstream releases, but it also has the freedom to do more — and that’s where you come in.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll support the GM while also playing a key part in shaping the cinema’s identity locally.
You’ll be:
- Leading from the floor and delivering brilliant, warm customer service
- Helping grow audiences for world cinema, independent films and live screenings
- Supporting film festivals and themed events
- Working with local schools, community groups and businesses
- Coming up with creative ideas to attract new audiences
- Training and motivating your team
- Driving standards and keeping the operation running smoothly
They don’t just want someone to run shifts.
They want someone who cares about what’s on screen & wants to be on the floor, running the business.
Who They’re Looking For
You could be:
- A Deputy or Assistant Manager from a multi-faceted cinema operation
- A restaurant/hospitality manager with a real passion for film
- Someone from a creative or experience-led venue
But most importantly, you’ll have:
- A genuine love of independent and world cinema alongside the regular blockbusters.
- An interest in live screenings, special events and alternative content
- The desire to build programming that reflects the local community
- The confidence to suggest ideas and make things happen
- A hands-on, people-first leadership style
- Energy, personality and entrepreneurial flair
This role would really suit someone who sees cinema as more than just ticket sales — someone who wants to create moments, build audiences and make the venue a true cultural hub.
The Package
- £30,000–£35,000 (depending on experience)
- Benefits - including 3 sick days paid, various discounts on tickets & food
- A growing company & a unique role with genuine progression opportunities
- A business that listens to ideas and encourages creativity
If you’re excited by the idea of running a busy cinema whilst helping grow world cinema, independent film and live screenings in a community-driven venue, this could be a brilliant move.
