Hesketh James Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with an exciting new premium hospitality concept in Stockport to recruit an Assistant Manager for their opening team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious independent business from the very beginning and play a key role in launching what is set to become one of the area's most exciting food and drink destinations.

Our client is creating a stylish, contemporary venue focused on exceptional wines, quality food and outstanding guest experiences. They are looking for a passionate and driven hospitality professional who can support the General Manager in delivering excellent service, developing a high-performing team and helping establish the venue as a destination location.

The Role

Working closely with the General Manager and ownership team, the successful candidate will support all aspects of the day-to-day operation, leading service shifts, developing team members and ensuring consistently high standards throughout the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the daily operation of the venue Leading service shifts and maintaining exceptional guest experience standards Coaching, training and developing team members Assisting with recruitment, onboarding and retention of staff Managing stock control, ordering and supplier deliveries Supporting rota planning and labour management Driving sales through product knowledge and guest engagement Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety and company procedures Acting as Manager on Duty when required Supporting private events, tastings and customer experiences

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

Previous management or supervisory experience within hospitality A genuine passion for food, drink and delivering exceptional customer experiences Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills The ability to motivate, develop and inspire teams A positive, hands-on approach to service Good commercial awareness and a desire to achieve results Ambition to develop their career within a growing independent business

Desirable Experience

Knowledge of wine and premium beverages WSET qualifications or a willingness to undertake training
