Our client is one of the UK's most exciting hospitality groups, operating a portfolio of unique, experience-led venues with ambitious expansion plans both across the UK and internationally. They are now seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to shape and deliver a best-in-class people development strategy that supports business growth, operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences.

Reporting into the Group HR Manager, this is a pivotal role that will partner with operational and support functions to develop talent at every level, build future leaders and embed a culture of continuous learning across the business.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, delivering and continuously evolving the Group's Learning & Development strategy, ensuring all employees have the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed.

Working across multiple brands and locations, you'll lead innovative learning initiatives that improve engagement, retention, internal progression and commercial performance while supporting new venue openings and future growth.

Based at the Group's Manchester Head Office, the role will involve regular travel across the UK with occasional international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a Group-wide Learning & Development strategy aligned to business objectives.
  • Design structured learning pathways across operational and support office functions.
  • Create and deliver leadership and management development programmes that build a strong internal talent pipeline.
  • Lead succession planning initiatives and identify high-potential talent across the business.
  • Develop engaging onboarding and induction programmes to provide an outstanding new starter experience.
  • Coach and support operational leaders to improve performance and develop their teams.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning, feedback and career progression.
  • Partner closely with the People Team to support engagement and retention strategies.
  • Deliver learning initiatives that positively impact commercial performance, productivity and operational standards.
  • Measure learning effectiveness through KPIs, operational metrics, employee engagement and ROI.
  • Manage the Learning & Development budget to maximise value and business impact.
  • Lead training programmes for new venue openings and expansion projects.
  • Ensure all teams maintain exceptional knowledge of food, beverage, service and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with operational and culinary teams to develop engaging product and service training.
  • Implement consistent training frameworks, competency assessments and compliance programmes across the Group.
  • Manage learning systems, digital content and training resources to ensure an engaging learner experience.
  • Promote internal career progression and recognise development achievements across the business.
  • Build strong relationships with external training providers and brand partners.
  • Support learning requirements across the Group's international operations where required.

About You

We are looking for an inspirational Learning & Development professional with experience within hospitality, leisure or luxury service environments.

You will be a confident facilitator, coach and relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site operation and enjoys developing people to achieve their full potential.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a senior Learning & Development, Talent Development or Training role.
  • A strong understanding of hospitality operations and guest experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering leadership, management and operational development programmes.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to influence senior leaders and drive positive cultural change.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience of Learning Management Systems and digital learning platforms.
  • A data-driven approach with experience measuring training effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Passion for people development and creating exceptional employee and guest experiences.
