Head Housekeeper
Salary: £35,000 to £38,000 per annum
Location: Southampton / Portsmouth

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll play a key role in creating the experience guests remember. Leading a busy Housekeeping team, you’ll make sure every bedroom and guest area is presented to the highest standard.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your eye for detail, ability to motivate others and passion for outstanding standards will make a real difference every day.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, support and motivate the Housekeeping team to deliver consistently high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Set clear expectations and ensure rooms are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Mentor team members, sharing your knowledge and helping them develop their skills and confidence.
- Respond professionally to guest requests and resolve any issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure property procedures and housekeeping standards are followed consistently.
- Welcome and train new team members, helping them settle into the team and understand our expectations.
- Manage stock ordering and linen levels to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Get stuck in and support the team on the floor whenever needed — we believe great leaders lead by example.

- Can motivate, coach and inspire a team to deliver their best work.
- Communicates confidently and effectively with colleagues, guests and the wider property team.
- Remains calm and organised under pressure, taking unexpected challenges in your stride.
- Enjoys working towards targets while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Leads from the front and isn’t afraid to be hands-on when the team needs you.
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a Housekeeping environment essential.
