Salary: Up to £38k + Quarterly Bonus Package

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Deputy General Manager to join a vibrant and forward-thinking bar and restaurant operation within an innovative national brand. This is a senior leadership role in a high-volume, high-quality cocktail bar, restaurant, and event space in the heart of Manchester’s bustling city centre.

As a Deputy General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations, supporting the General Manager in ensuring the venue consistently delivers exceptional experiences for guests while driving operational excellence. Your leadership will inspire your team to maintain the highest standards of service, while also focusing on driving profitability and creating exciting new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy, high-quality cocktail bar and restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service across all areas.
  • Step up in the General Manager’s absence, assuming full responsibility for the venue and its performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of passionate hospitality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring the highest service standards.
  • Drive business growth through effective team development, sales generation, and identifying new opportunities to elevate the venue’s profile and success.
  • Manage business controls, including labour, stock, and expenditure, to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a senior manager in a large scale, high-quality bar operation
  • A natural leader with exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, and a genuine passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences.
  • Strong expertise in cocktail preparation, drinks service, and delivering consistently exceptional standards.
  • A keen understanding of business operations, including cost control, stock management, and team performance metrics.
  • A hands-on approach to training, coaching, and motivating a team, empowering them to reach their full potential.
  • Experience managing atmosphere, music and private bookings to deliver a fantastic customer experience.
